During the two-day Indian Seed Congress organized by the National Seed Association of India in Delhi, Tomar said, "Suggestions have been taken from the concerned parties on the Seed Traceability System, its launch will benefit the farmers as well as all those doing good work in the seed sector." People will get and the field of seed will move towards working properly with certainty.

Whatever obstacles come in the way of smoothly running the seed sector, the government is very serious about it. Tomar said that our agriculture sector is prosperous and it is the backbone of the economy. India is in the leading position in agriculture, yet in some areas like oilseeds, cotton, in which we are yet to become self-sufficient, the stakeholders of the seed sector should also contribute to make the country self-sufficient by reducing imports. In this direction, seed industries need to prepare a roadmap and work on it. Tomar said that tomorrow is a very lucky mascot for India.

Tomar also appreciated the contribution of scientists of all institutes affiliated to the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) in developing climate-friendly and biofortified varieties as well as other good varieties of seeds.
